We Make the History #50

A lot of things happened in 2013-2015.
In 2013, I joined English First in Depok.

After several months in EF, I changed a lot.
I learnt to adapt, learnt to speak and give my opinion about something.
Somehow, I felt more confident, more open-minded and positive toward life.
I started to dream big, and make plans for my future.
I feel like EF is my second home. Saturday became my favorite day in a week.
It's like EF be my escape from my daily routine

Everyone in my class is really kind, fun and awesome, especially the teachers.
My teachers are native, so it's really exciting to talk about their culture, and compare to us.
We often played games and quizzes. Usually, the one who has 'unusual' dream is the winner. That's why I started to think out of the box.

In EF, I met amazing friends that so positive and bright about what will happen in life.
We barely talk about our difficulties, disappointment, or sadness.
We just have fun, and try to live in the moment as much as possible.
We also try to motivate each other to achieve their dreams.
One of the best things in life for me is to have friends that encourage each other to be successful.
And, I'm glad to be part of them.

I have two favorite teachers in EF, they are Mr. Gerald and Mr. Rob.
Mr. Gerald is British and Mr. Rob is Filipino but have lived in Chicago for a long time. 
They taught us to become participative in class and how important to be ourselves.
They reminded us to see a good things in everything that happened.
One point that I really like from EF is almost everyone there are having dreams to travel the world. And because of Mr. Gerald and Mr. Rob, travelling is like one of my ultimate goals in life. I realized that the world is a huge place, and there are so many things that I should try and explore.

But, Mr. Rob is one of the most influential people in my life. Really.
He is so kind, and have a good heart. There are so many things that I learnt from him.
He's very kind, very very kind.
Do you want any prove?
He's graduated from University of Peace.
Well, it's really out of the box. I mean, I don't think that Indonesian will take that school.
We often chased money, how to be rich, and success. But not from him, he defined success as meaningful for everyone. That's really sweet.
He moved from Indonesia and went back to Maldives to be with his future wife.
Hmm, we were sad. But, he promised to still keep in touch with us.
And yeah, I still keep in touch with him. This is his first email to us..

Our Story
     Before we met, we were each living separate lives with different stories. Then, our love of learning brought our lives together, and our story began. I'm so thankful because we had the opportunity to learn from each other and share fun, happy memories together. I'm also very excited about your future!

     Why? Because we are all students and teachers of life, and you give me hope that anything is possible! So what do you want others to learn from your life story? What will you learn, create, and teach next? How will you share your learning and your happiness with others? How will you continue to question, challenge, and improve what you've learned? How will you put your learning into action to create happier lives for you and our human family? Whatever you choose to do, I wish you all the best as you help make the world a better place!

     Please remember that this group of friends can always stay connected and continue learning together by asking great questions, communicating happy news, and supporting each other to achieve your dreams! Please share this message with any students who were unable to join us for our party class.

And, after he moved to the Maldives. I talked to Ms. Yuni, she is an Indonesian teacher. She was my teacher for two terms (if I'm not wrong).
I got a good news from her!
She said that Mr. Rob converted to Islam when he was in Jakarta.
I just found out one year later. I was so happy.
It means that his good deen will get a reward:)

In 2015, Only 3 students left in my class. Some of my friends have their own schedule, and another course. So, my class got postponed.

I'm back!

Hello, my online diary.
It's been a long time since I posted something in this blog.
I kinda miss writing, and want to share what I have been doing in the past 3 years.

So, in my previous post, I wrote about my goals in 2013 about losing weight.
And.........I did it!
I lost 8kg in a year, and I maintain that until last 2015.
Now, I had lost 10kg in total. I'm so happy about that:)

My recipes to diet is willing to do it, because it can't just happen overnight.
It takes discpline and dedication.
You have to eat right and exercise.
It's okay if you don't want to exercise, but it probably takes more time.

At first, you will see many temptation to break your rules, maybe your friends ask you to have lunch together, your parents ask you to join them attend the wedding, or maybe you will craving your favorite foods. So, that's a battle with yourself.

When you tell your friends that you're going to diet, they probably will laugh at you and say that you cannot do it. When you tell your family that you're going to diet, they probably will be pity on you, because you eat in small portion and they worry about your health. So, it's another battle to believe in yourself.

YOU CAN DO IT.

You have to believe in yourself. You have to believe that everything is possible.

Setelah aku berhasil nurunin 8kg di tahun 2013, banyak banget hal-hal baik yang aku rasain.
Yang pertama aku jadi lebih positif, lebih happy, lebih percaya diri, dan lebih dihargain sama orang lain.

Setelah aku berhasil diet, aku juga bertekad banget mau bantuin temen-temen yang masih 'kelebihan berat badan'. Aku sering ngasih mereka motivasi, dan ngeyakinin kalo mereka juga bisa.

Well, cuma satu dua orang aja sih yang beneran ikutan bertekad buat ngurusin badan, yang lainnya hmmmm so many excuses.

Aku cuma mau bilang:
Ketika kita memperbaiki diri kita, good things will happen.
Menurunkan berat badan, menurutku salah satu dari sekian banyak caranya.
Kenapa?
Karena realitanya, people do judge people by its cover.
Aku ketika smp yang overweight itu...........di bully, dijadiin bahan ledekan, ga terlalu banyak temen, minder, dan dipandang sebelah mata.
Dan, rasanya miris aja ketika kita punya kemampuan tapi ga bisa dimaksimalin karena ketutupan sama 'cover' kita itu. Belum lagi susahnya nyari baju yang sesuai sama keinginan kita.

Sebagai cewek yang overweight juga terasa disepelein sama cowok-cowok..
Dianggepnya malu-maluin, ga ini ga itu dan segala macem.

Jadi, kalau kalian yang baca ini mau ngurusin badan....DO IT
Jangan nyerah, percaya deh sekalinya kalian udah sampe di weight goals kalian,
You will feel happier, brighter, and more positive.
Miracle will happen. You will attract better.
Jangan banyak alasan, jangan banyak nunda juga bilangnya 'besok',
Do it now when you still have time.
Diet butuh ekstra fokus juga soalnya...

TRUST THE PROCESS.

Tips:
Dulu waktu aku diet, aku ga makan nasi putih, ga makan malem, ga ngemil.
Jadi, makanan yg almost everyday aku makan:
Tahu rebus sama telur rebus.
Kalo mau ngemil, biasanya aku makan buah semangka atau roti gandum.
Trus, minum susu low-fat.
Kalo cheat day: Kwetiaw Goreng, dan ini paling di makan dua minggu sekali..

Olahraganya:
Skipping, setiap hari.
Aku targetin sehari itu 500-700x, tapi kalo lg niat banget bisa 1000x.
Trus, ngangkat barbel. Gerakannya liat di internet gitu.
Dan hasilnya lumayan...jadi ga terlalu kendor hehe-_-



Aku ngelakuin ini sekitar 3bulan, dan berhasil nurunin 5kg.
Mungkin kalo ada yang bilang, dikit banget tiga bulan cm lima kilo;
I just want to say, kalo ngurusin badan pengen hasil yang cepet itu susah atau mungkin bisa tapi kemungkinan buat kena efek yoyo juga besar.
Efek yoyo itu ketika berhasil nurunin badan tapi ujungnya naik lagi, dan mungkin lbh berat dari sebelumnya. Misalnya nurunin 5kg eh taunya bbrp bulan kemudian malah naik 6-7kg.

Dan yang pasti kalo diet dibarengin olahraga, pertamanya bakal ngerasa 'sore' atau pegel-pegel.
Karena mungkin yang biasanya ga pernah olahraga trus tiba-tiba olahraga, pasti badannya baru bekerja. Dan mungkin di awal-awal juga ngerasa pusing, karena asupan kalorinya menurun.

Banyak-banyakin juga ngefollow akun 'fitness'.
Yang banyak quotes, dan transformation body (semacam before after).
You will feel more motivated.

Pokoknya good luck for everyone that going to lose weight.
